Those Things

Those Things

Those values embraced, now eaten by change
Deep feelings once new, but now out of range
The diamonds I found, whilst spending my time
And incomplete moments, forbidden to rhyme
All lost in the movement, of passing emotion
Like feelings of friendships, as deep as the ocean
The sinking of ships, I once hoped to sail
The building of more, they too, doomed to fail
Those things that were golden, now tarnished and frail
Awaiting destruction, at the end of the trail
All things that must pass, from memories creation
Doomed to slip by, in this brief incarnation
Those things I would keep, though could never be mine
Now darkened and dull, when once they did shine
Its all in the mystery, of life and its wonder
All merged and entwined, but then broken asunder
